Evans Learning Labs
Accessibility

Accessible professional development should be part of the platform, not an afterthought.

Evans Learning Labs evaluates its customer-facing platform against WCAG 2.2 Level AA and maintains current accessibility conformance documentation for institutions, organizations, administrators, and individual users.

Current accessibility position

Designed for broad, direct access.

Evans Learning Labs is built primarily around text-based assessments, web-based reports, responsive dashboards, research content, labeled forms, and direct browser access. The same platform can also be delivered through an institution's or organization's LTI 1.3-compatible learning environment.

We have completed a vendor accessibility review using the Information Technology Industry Council VPAT framework and evaluated the supplied production platform against WCAG 2.2 Levels A and AA. The current Accessibility Conformance Report identifies both the areas that support the applicable criteria and the specific areas where accessibility improvements remain in progress.

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing product requirement. When a barrier is identified, the goal is to correct the shared component or workflow so the improvement applies across the platform rather than only to a single page.

What this statement means

Evans Learning Labs does not currently claim complete WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. Our current documentation is a good-faith vendor assessment of the platform and is intended to give institutions, organizations, and users a transparent view of current support and known areas for continued improvement.

Platform approach

Accessibility features across Evans Learning Labs

The platform is intentionally built around conventional web content and direct user interpretation rather than requiring specialized software or a certified intermediary to access the core experience.

01
Text-first assessment experience
Assessment prompts, response choices, instructions, and interpretations are primarily delivered as structured text rather than through audio, video, or gesture-dependent interactions.
02
Responsive web interface
Public pages, tools, reports, dashboards, and administrative workflows use responsive layouts intended to work across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports.
03
Web-based results
Assessment results are available through the browser, allowing users to review interpreted results without relying exclusively on a downloadable PDF document.
04
Labeled forms and familiar controls
Core account, licensing, assessment, and administration workflows rely heavily on standard form controls with visible labels and familiar browser behavior.
05
Meaning beyond color
Assessment interpretations and result states are communicated through text and labels so users are not expected to infer meaning from color alone.
06
Direct and LMS delivery
Licensed tools can be delivered directly through Evans Learning Labs or through an LTI 1.3-compatible LMS, giving institutions flexibility in how students or participants access the experience.
Ongoing work

Known areas under improvement

Our current review identified several areas where the platform can be improved further. These items are documented in the current ACR and are being treated as targeted remediation work rather than hidden or excluded from the accessibility statement.

Keyboard behavior in selected custom controls
A small number of custom navigation and card interactions need stronger keyboard-equivalent behavior and programmatic state exposure.
Downloadable PDF structure
Downloadable reports remain a convenience format, but tagged-PDF structure and screen-reader semantics require further improvement. Web-based result experiences remain available as the primary browser-accessible format.
Selected contrast refinements
Some secondary helper text and low-emphasis interface boundaries require contrast adjustments to fully meet WCAG minimums.
Dialog and focus management
Selected custom dialogs and modal interactions need more consistent focus entry, focus return, and programmatic dialog semantics.
Bypass and landmark consistency
Shared templates are being reviewed for more consistent skip-navigation and main-content landmark support.
Dynamic status announcements
Some asynchronous success, error, selection, and dashboard messages need stronger screen-reader announcement behavior.

Accessibility documentation is a point-in-time assessment. Browser behavior, assistive technology, LMS configuration, third-party content, and future platform changes can affect the user experience. Evans Learning Labs updates its accessibility documentation as material changes are implemented or identified.
